One of the biggest mistakes early-stage founders make is selling to the wrong part of the brain.

You focus on features, logic, pricing, all the fine details you worked hard to perfect  and while that makes sense to you, it might not feel right to your customer. That’s where things go sideways.
When your message is too focused on logic (the “Red Brain”), your customer starts:
And as you already know... indecision kills momentum.
Great sales doesn’t start with logic, it starts with emotion.
Think of the brain in two parts:
đź”´ Red Brain = Logic First
đź’š Green Brain = Emotion First
People buy emotionally. Then they justify it with logic.
Emotions open the door. Logic just walks them through.
Here’s how to shift your messaging to connect with what people feel, not just what they think:
1. Start With the Transformation
What outcome are they really after? Sell the result, not the roadmap.
Instead of:
🟥 "Get 12 workouts and a meal plan."
Say:
đźź© "Feel proud of your body again. Wake up energized, confident, and free from guilt."
2. Use Emotional Language
Tap into the desires, fears, and identities of your customer.
What do they secretly want? What are they tired of feeling?
3. Tell Stories, Not Specs
Use metaphors, personal stories, or vivid before-and-after examples to paint a picture they can feel.
If you're a first-time founder, this free worksheet helps you reframe your messaging to speak directly to the emotional mind of your customer. It's designed to:
